JONKER STREET MALACCA
Jonker Street, Jonker Walk or the Jonker Hang Jebat used to have servants and subordinates of Dutch colonialists live at the nearby Heeren Street during the Dutch Malacca. However, it became noblemen's street after the Dutch left. Rich Peranakans started to live and did business within the street area, giving the street a deep-rooted ethnic and cultural flavour. The root history had develop Jonker Street into what it is today.
